Rafaela Colon Bronx, New York Obituary

Rafaela Colon

Our mother was born on February24, 1938 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She later married our Father Antonio Colon. She had four children, Sandra, Fernando, Anthony and Raymond. In addition, she was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who loved her immensely. Our mom was a courageous woman who never backed away from the challenges of life. Our mother always thought twice, first for her children and then for her. She loved us dearly and also knew that someday we would lose her; therefore, she dedicated75 years of her life in preparing us for this day. She never passed up an opportunity to share a story in her life in order for us to learn a lesson. She cared so deeply for every one of us and had the uncanny ability to adapt to each and every one of our personalities. She knew that as much as we were similar we also were different. Our mother truly embodied the definition of“Unconditional Love” for her children and we are so thankful to God for having blessed us with such an incredible mother. When you have someone in your lifelike our mom you truly understand why life is too short. If our tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you back home, we love you mom.
