Rita Miranda was born on February 16th 1927 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada to Frank and Michaelina (Nee Magalia) Cuomo. She had five siblings, Tony and Ralphie, who she is survived by and Sammy, Julia and Ida, who she is predeceased by. As a young woman she moved to New York, where she married her loving husband of 63 years, Jaspare (Babe) Miranda, on April 7th 1951. They raised their three children in the Bronx. Rita is survived by her husband along with their children, her son Gerald and his wife Ann Marie, her daughter Mary Ann Napolitano and her husband Sal, and her daughter Susan Converso and her husband James. she is further survived by her grand-children Naisha Verni and her husband Danny, Nicole Hanson, Steven Napolitano and his wife Jennifer, Michele Miranda, Michael Napolitano and his wife Christa, Daniel Napolitano, James Converso and Christopher Converso and her great-grandchildren Gianna, Brianna, Daniela, Mikey, Stevie and Adrianna. She loved baking, cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite flower was the African Violet. Her favorite saying "Patienzica". Rita left us on December 20, 2014, and when she did she left a hole in our family that can never be filled. She will be greatly missed.
