Warren Coaker

Warren A. Coaker passed away peacefully in his brand new apartment located at Fort Schuyler House in the Bronx, NY. Warren was a 16 year Army Veteran. He was born on Oct 17, 1943, in St Croix VI to Ruth Petrus and Alfredo Coaker. In 1976 he joined the Army. After graduating basic training he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 36th Infantry and deployed to various countries including Spain and Germany. His commanding officers said he was a brave and loyal soldier. He received many commendations and had respect from all he served with for his tenacious leadership qualities. He attained his military honorable discharge. He arrived in the U.S. Mainland from St Croix, VI at the age of 7 Years old. He attended elementary school in Harlem where he lived, and later went to Stuart HS in Queens NY. Warren was the eldest son of six brothers. Widowed in 2015. He held a Class AM CDL License. He had many different jobs to name a few Warren worked as a chauffeur, typist and auto mechanic. One of Warren’s biggest dreams was to own a passenger bus and chauffeur customers to different entertaining locations and sites. Warren was a happy go lucky man who was loved and will be missed by many. He will always be remembered for his alluring magnetic personality. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Searching through the memories of Warren’s life reveals that he was a man who defined strength, love, hard work and determination. Warren’s heart was big and he gave to many. He lived his life the way he wanted to live it and he did that to the fullest. He was a proud man who loved his children. Everyone who came into his universe will attest to the fact that he was an honest opinionated person with a lot of spirit for fun and enjoyment, he was a crack up. Warren will be remembered for all the good times his big presence brought to holidays, birthdays, vacations, dances, dinners and the list goes on and on. We can all speak to his jovial, honest, radical demeanor. Warren was not a perfect man, but, a great man in his own right. If you sought after his opinion, approval, support or guidance he was readily available to provide encouragement, support and without a doubt his own personal opinion. He is proceeded in death by his late wife Janice, parents Alfredo Coaker and Ruth Civil. He is survived by his brothers Mario Daniel Kevin Civil , Clifford Civil , Eldrid Civil and Lloyd and sisters Robin Coaker and Maria Coaker, many children both biological and non-biological. Also a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Warren would not want his passing to be mourned, rather, dwell fondly on the jewels of knowledge and the memory of that great big smile he imparted to each and every person he knew. His favorite last line was One Love.
