On October 8, 2011, Andrew Torregrossa passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. During his eighty-six years, Andrew was a family man, war hero, humanitarian, philanthropist, devoted Catholic, and one of the most highly regarded figures in the funeral service industry. Mr. Torregrossa was the President of Andrew Torregrossa & Sons, Inc. Funeral Homes in Brooklyn, New York. Andrew was the Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Pietrina and Daniel Pensabene, Lucille Torregrossa, Louis and Vivian Torregrossa, John and Bridget Torregrossa, Maria and Michael Pieterick, and his late son, Andrew III. Cherished grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 11. Dear brother of Gloria Carrabba and Mary and Saul Rothkopf. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and his memory will remain in all our hearts forever. Wake Services will be held at Andrew Torregrossa & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 79 st, Brooklyn, NY 11228. Wednesday 10/12/11 & Thursday 10/13/11, Hours 2-5 pm & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass 10:45 am, Friday 10/14/11 @ St. Bernadette RC Church. Entombment @ St. Johns Cemetery.
