Angelo Badalamenti, 74, of Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan. Angelo was born on May 7, 1946 to Giuseppe and Anna Badalamenti in Carini, Palermo (Sicily). Angelo was a marble and stone craftsman. He enjoyed his craft and had great pride in his work. He married, Maria Amato on September 9, 1972 in Carini, Palermo. Angelo and Maria migrated to the United States in 1978 along with their two young daughters at the time. The family continue to expand to include three more children. Angelo enjoyed a simple life: spending time with friends and family, smoking a Cuban cigar, and good authentic Italian home cooked meals. Angelo loved life and people. He has built a myriad of long lasting friendships and is well respected by so many. Angelo is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Anna, and older brothers, Croce and Emanuele. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Maria; children, Anna Maria Gambino, Finella Covello, Giuseppe Badalamenti, Loredana Febbraro, and Gaspare Badalamenti; son-in-laws, Benedetto Gambino, Giuseppe Covello, and Lawrence Febbraro; daugher-in-laws Cristina Badalamenti and Silvia Salamone; 9 grandchildren, Rosalia, Maria, Giuliana, and Isabella Gambino, Josephine and Frankie Covello, Lorenzo and Luca Febbraro and Angelo Badalamenti. Angelo was a true warrior and fought courageously until the very end to beat cancer. He will be remembered for his bravery, determination and his impactful spirit. Family is requesting that in lieu of flowers to send donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.
