Vito A. Borzumato, loving father, passed away peacefully at the age of 88, on Thursday, August 10, 2017, with his treasured children—Terry, Rosalie, and Dominick—by his side. He was born in Brooklyn on Sunday, January 20, 1929, to Dominick and Teresa Borzumato. The oldest of three children, Vito, affectionately called Nino, was predeceased by his siblings Rose Dackerman and Vinnie. Nino adored his family, loved cooking, and enjoyed listening to big band music and watching classic black-and-white as well as family movies. He was the neighbor-proclaimed “Mayor of Fifth Avenue” in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where he lived for most of his life.  He leaves his daughters, Theresa Borzumato-Greenberg and her husband Allan Greenberg, and Rosalie Borzumato; his son Dominick Borzumato and his wife Carol; as well as his grandchildren, Justine and her husband Matthew Metzler, and Daniel. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Infill 7 at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital for their attentiveness and kindness, and Marlon Small, his longtime caregiver at Hopkins Center, for his many years of dedication and his unwavering compassionate care. Visitation will take place from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, at Andrew Torregrossa & Sons, 1305 79th Street, Brooklyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 9:45 a.m. at St. Anselm’s R. C. Church, 356 82nd Street, Brooklyn, followed by internment at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York.
