Olsen, H. George - June 13, 2019 - Age 88 - Of Tonawanda, NY - (American Flag) Passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Jean Robertson. Uncle of Craig (Gena) Robertson, Bruce (Diane) Robertson, Maureen (Jim) Lauda and Beth Delano. Great uncle of Kiera Robertson, Joe Lauda, Heather Blair, Stewart Robertson, Daniel and James DeLano. Survived by many great friends. George was born in 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. With World War Two on the horizon, his parents moved the family back to their native Norway in 1936, where they lived for 10 years. At the conclusion of the war, they returned to America in 1946 and settled in Western New York. George graduated from Hutchison Central High School in Buffalo, and attended Millard Fillmore College. He served in the National Guard from 1949 to 1954, and was employed by Buffalo Forge for 43 1\2 years before retiring in 1992. The family will receive friends at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 911 Englewood Ave. Friday, June 21st from 3 to 7 PM, Where a Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7PM.
