Filomena Forgione

FORGIONE, FILOMENA - 94 of Eastchester passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Filomena was born in Avellino, Italy on January 9, 1925 to the late Raffaele and Josephine D'Ambrosio. She inspirationally overcame many challenges to emigrate from Italy to America in 1948 leaving her three year old son behind to better the life for her family. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Anthony, her grandson Joseph Anthony Forgione, her siblings William D'Ambrosio, Rose Stanco, Elisa Gonnella, Frank D'Ambrosio and Eleanor Rubbo, her son-in-law Thomas G. Damiano. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Forgione (Patty), MaryAnne Damiano, and Nancy Ferri (Robert). Also missing her dearly will be her 8 grandchildren Christine Watson (John), Francine Flynn (Sean), Colleen Kaufman (Richard), Anthony James (AJ) Forgione, Patricia Morrison (Stephen), Laura Spagnolo (Joseph), Dana Damiano, Tonia Damiano, her 10 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members. Filomena enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing for her loved ones, and sharing words of wisdom. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, selflessness, generosity and unwavering faith. Viewing will be at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, Inc. on Thursday, June 27th 4 pm to 8 pm with a Funeral Mass on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
