Sr. Angelo Obituary

Sister M. Celine Angelo, 98, embraced death on Wednesday at Jolenta Convent. She was born in Marshall, Colorado to Anthony and Vita Cardilla Angelo. She was a Sister of St. Francis for 83 years. Sister received a Bachelors Degree in History from Catholic University in Washington, DC and a Masters Degree in History from St. Rose College in Albany. She was an educator at Bishop Ludden High School 24 years, taught in many other schools in NY State and in Hawaii. Sister endeared herself to the students and their families. She was also Pastoral Care Minister to the Senior Residents at the Bishop Ludden Apartments. Her last years were spent at Jolenta Convent where she was a prayer minister. Sister will always be remembered for her years of devoted service to her Community and in the hearts of those who loved her as a very caring, prayerful and loyal sister and friend. She is predeceased by two sisters Vita and Mae Angelo. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Sardelli and Sophie Gimelli and the Sisters of St. Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, March 5th at St. Anthony Convent Chapel. Visitation will precede Mass from 9:00 to 10:45 am in the chapel. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Contributions: may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Development Office, 1118 Court St., Suite 32, Syracuse, NY 13208.
