Moreau It is with great sorrow and sadness; we lost our mother, grandmother, and good friend Barbara Anne (Corlew) Shaw, 82, who passed away peacefully at home in Moreau surrounded by family Thursday, March 23, 2017. Born June 17, 1934 in Whitehall she was the daughter of the late Harold Sr. and Elizabeth (Bessie) Macfarren Corlew. She enjoyed basketball in high school, the Saratoga Race Track, walking, taking bus trips with the Moreau seniors, cruises, birthday gatherings with family and friends, going to the movies and lunch on Tuesdays with the girls. Barb volunteered for the Telephone Pioneers, Sandy Hill Days and contributed too many organizations. She worked 35 years at the telephone company in Glens Falls. Barb will be sadly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents, Barb was predeceased by an infant son, Michael Sweet; brothers, Harold Corlew Jr. and Richard Corlew; and sister, Linda Sellingham. Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Curtis (Deb) Sweet of Queensbury, Timothy (Denise) Sweet of Lake Katrine, Kevin (Nancy) Sweet of Hudson Falls; granddaughters, Terri (Butch) Jackson of Bolton, NC, Kim (Joel) Hill of Hudson falls and Alexis Sweet of Lake Katrine; grandsons, Josh Sweet of Lake Katrine, Kevin Sweet Jr. of Hudson Falls and Kyle Sweet of Hudson Falls; along with 3 great grandchildren. Per Barb’s request there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank Casey, Debbie, Terri, Robert and Valerie for all their help. In remembrance of Barb go to a movie or go to lunch or donate to a charity of one’s choice.
