Ruth A. Gersch, 98, of Williams Rd., Earlville, NY, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born December 2, 1921 in Port Jervis, NY, a daughter of Carl and Mabel Martin Lisk and was a graduate of local schools. On May 3, 1939, Ruth married George D. Gersch in Richfield Springs, NY. He predeceased her on December 18, 1997. Ruth assisted her husband in the operation of their dairy farm and also worked in the cafeteria for the Sherburne-Earlville School District. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. Ruth enjoyed playing BINGO and embroidering. She loved going to the Turning Stone Casino. Surviving are her grandchildren, Tammy Sullivan of Sherburne and Mickey Gersch; and and two great granddaughters Cassandra (Dan) Fuller Jamestown NY, and Shayla Sullivan New Paltz NY, one great, great granddaughter Melody Fuller. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Rowe, a son, George “Sonny” Gersch, Jr.; and a sister Phyllis. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of her family in the Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
