Jean Marie Sargood, 86, passed away on Saturday December 5th, at her residence on Babcock Lake Road surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Donald “Tiny” Sargood who passed several years ago. Jean was born on September 21, 1934, in Manchester, VT, daughter of the late Theodore J. and Lucille (Edgerton) Jzyk. Jean worked at several area restaurants including the former Four Chimney's and Boot Scooters Cafe in Hoosick Falls where she was co-owner. She also worked on many banquets for the sports teams at H.F.C.S., and dinners at the Hoosick Falls Elks Lodge, where she was a member of the Auxiliary. In her later years Jean loved to watch her grandchildren play sports, watch the birds and deer out her window. Her other hobbies were reading, crocheting and knitting blankets and slippers. Survivors include her children Sue (Jed) Donovan, Penny (Dan) Dalpe, Sharon (Bob) Niles, Christina (Tom) Bloomer, Donald (Colleen) Wyman, William (Bridget) Wyman, Edward (Nicole) Sargood, Chris (Julie) Sargood all of Hoosick Falls, NY, sisters Anna (Gene) Hoyt of Arlington, VT, Rita (Dave) Pash of Bethel, Vt, Lucille Kapusta of Manchester, VT, also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by a brother Theodore Jzyk. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
