Kenneth C. Heady, 83, an area resident for 48 years, died on October 5, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on March 14, 1934 in Peekskill, Kenneth was the son of Perley and Cora Lee (Carney) Heady. In 1968 in Putnam Valley, he married the love of his life, Gail Laudato, who survives at home. A mason contractor, he was the owner and operator of Ken Heady Construction. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club, and loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his children, Kelly Heady of Beacon, Kim Kuehner and her husband Charlie of Fishkill, Keith Heady of Hopewell Junction, and Kendra Heady of Hopewell Junction; his daughter- in-law, Lori Heady of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Taryn, Shane, Carlee, Kenneth Jr., Cheyanne, Brooke, Adriana and Jessica; his great- grandchildren, Mason, Carter and Jaxon; his siblings, Donald, Roger, Lois and Joan; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Heady on March 15, 2011; and his siblings, Perley, Bobby, Gertrude, and Blanche. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday at the funeral home followed by a reception immediately following at the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club. Military honors will be held at 12:30 at the reception.
