Mark Schaible

Mark Paul Schaible, 52, a resident of Rancho Cordova, California since 1993, and formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, died on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Mark was the son of Paul M. and Jeannette Schaible of Poughkeepsie. He was born on April 16, 1965, and baptized and confirmed at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1984, and attended Concordia College in Bronxville for a year, with an emphasis in music, his special gift. While at Ketcham, he received special awards in trumpet, including All-State Band and the Louis Armstrong prize in jazz. On basis of audition, Mark attended the renowned Interlochen Music Camp in Michigan the summer of 1983. At Concordia, his interest in keyboards grew while he also participated in an active brass group. Mark treasured his 3 keyboards and music equipment, and spoke of playing with a group. Mark loved to ski, and was eager to try the toughest slopes until his health interfered. Camping and fishing with friends, cooking and eating, were some of his favorite pastimes. Mark is survived by his parents in Poughkeepsie; his brother, David Schaible of Ulster Park; his niece, Kachine Schaible of New Paltz; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his steadfast friends in California, James, John and Tom. Mark’s funeral will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill on Saturday, September 30th at 11am with visitation at the church from 10-11am preceding the service.
