HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Mildred Elizabeth Pearson, 101, a lifelong area resident, died on April 26, 2017 at home. Born on February 27, 1916 in Hopewell Junction, she was the daughter of the late James Daniel and Julia Eldridge (Phinney) Johnson. Mildren attended grammar school at the little school house on Beekman Road, and then went on to graduate from Beacon High School. She had been employed as an operator for New York Telephone Company in New York City for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church. On September 21, 1947 in Manhattan, Mildred married Frank Harold Pearson who predeceased her on July 5, 1991. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Beatrice Johnson; her nieces and nephews, Gail D. Johnson, her daughter and son-in-law Erika and Bryan Bulluck and their son Ryan Anthony, Larry and Brenda Johnson and their children Jesse and Aaron, Rodney and Theron Johnson and their children Stephanie and Trevor, Cheryl and Ricky Rollins and their children Taj and Jamal, Donna and Curtis Silver and their daughter Pearl and her son Elias, James and Theresa Johnson, and Sue Blodgett; her cousins, Gloria and Richard Suppiger and their family, Peter and Robin Taliaferro and their children Peter John, Ian, and Delancey, and Lisa and David Petty and their children Drew, Stella, and Hannah; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice and Sylvester Yates, James D. and Gertrude Johnson, Madeline and Charles Peterson, Herbert Johnson, and Jesse and Geraldine Johnson; and her nephew, James Daniel Johnson, II. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am officiated by Rev. Taylor Holbrook at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
