Barbara “Barbarita”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Her kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was born on December 30, 1954 to Evan and Mildred Selman of Panama, Rep. of Panama. After culminating her educational studies Barbara, migrated to the U.S. and took residence in the State of New York for over forty years. Barbara was a former employee of Madison Square Garden (MSG) Arena. She was an important member of the MSG family for more than 25 years, and was loved by everyone. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, on her last trip to Panama with her siblings she was able to take a partial transit through the Panama Canal. Barbara loved the Lord. While in Panama, she was blessed to visit the Pentecostal Faith Church of God where her late Grandmother, Rev. Louise Catherwood, was Pastor and Founder. She was predeceased by her loving parents: Evan and Mildred Selman, her siblings: Rupert, Conrad, Harold, Lorenzo and Violet. Grateful for her enduring love are those who survived Barbara: her husband Fernando “Wesso” Charles Sr., her only child Fernando Charles Jr., (wife) Junella Charles, two grandchildren, Josiah and Justin Charles. Her siblings Cloine Peters, Sandra Selman, Glisbert Selman, (Irving, TX), Cynthia Joseph (husband FitzRoy), Felicia Selman, (Missouri City, TX). She also leaves an uncle, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members, friends and co-workers who will remember her for the loving and caring person that she was, and will always remain in their hearts.
