Norman David Hill

Norman David Hill Jr. the eldest of three brothers, George Steven and Keith Edmond (deceased) from the union of Norman and Gertrude Hill, was born on August 21, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. He was educated in the New York City school system, attended Brown Memorial Baptist Church in his early years and was a member of the Boys Scouts and sang on the choir. He would later as an adult attend and became a member of the Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Marines Corps, where he continued his education in Special Training in the field of Communication. He completed his term and received an honorable discharge. Not long after he began working for the US Customs Department at the former World Trade Center and was subsequently transferred to The JFK Airport, where he received several certificates for outstanding performance in the line of duty. He loved his job and was very serious about his duties and responsibilities. While on the job he was promoted twice and received additional trainings in the areas of drug detection - search and seizure. He also started and was editor of a monthly bible newsletter that he circulated among the JFK Airport Customs employees. His favorite saying was PEACE FROM GOD THE FATHER FROM WHOM All BLESSINGS FLOW. Norman was a good neighbor and generous supporter of a host of charities, such as Feed the Hungry, St . Jude's Children's hospital, March of Dimes, NAACP, United Negro College Fund and Wounded Warriors . Norman met his beloved wife of almost 32 years on a blind date. Two years later they were united in the bonds of Holy Matrimony at the Concord Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, and had a memorable honeymoon in the Poconos. They enjoyed traveling; going on cruises to the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Panama and Jamaica. He also loved dancing with his wife and enjoyed celebrating and having his family around. The family affectionately called him "Babyboy". Norman has left to cherish his life his wife Silvia Hill, brother George Hill, cousin James Hill, great uncle Edmond Curley, Aunt Fannie Curley, in-laws Robert Williams, Frederick Williams, Rogelio Williams, Mavis Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
