Beatrice Gooden, 86, of Marcellus passed away Tuesday Nov. 1, 2011 at Loretto. Born in Manlius, she was a secretary for Del Monte Corp., Reagan Insurance and Thomas Dyer Esq.. She was a member of the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church and a former ruling elder. Bea was predeceased by her husband John on Sept. 7, 2001. Beatrice is survived by her daughter Beatrice Shimmel of Morrisdale, PA., sons Russell (Alyson) of Syracuse and Daniel of Marcellus; sister Clarabelle Thurston of Auburn and 4 grandchildren Julie Shimmel Kennedy (Dan), John Paul Shimmel, David Gooden and Megan Gooden. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2011 at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Friday Nov. 4, 2011 at the funeral home, 33 North St. Marcellus.
