Florence Henderson

Florence A. Henderson, 89, of Amber, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of Wednesday September 16, 2015 Born in Otisco to the late Eugene and Hazel Olcott, Florence lived most of her life in Marietta. She will be remembered most for her strong faith, having spent a portion of each morning in Bible reading and prayer. Florence was a very active member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school and AWANA. She loved to bird watch, go Christmas shopping in July and watching old westerns. She was predeceased by her husband Ellis. Florence is survived by her children Rob (Chris) Henderson, David (Bunny) Henderson, Mike (Margo) Henderson, Tim (Ronda) Henderson, Dru (Bill) Mott and Melissa Henderson. She also leaves behind her siblings Carus Olcott, David Olcott and Elizabeth North along with 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Florence will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday September 21 at the Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2609 Rose Hill Rd., Marietta with a service to follow at 11 a.m.. Burial will be in Amber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Amber Fire Department or Hospice of CNY.
