Jane Spinks Smith, 67, of Marcellus passed away Sunday July 21, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Syracuse to the late Vaughn “Sod” and Harriet Spinks, she was a long time waitress at the Alvord House in Marcellus. She was very crafty and loved to crochet, work in the garden and read. She especially loved her scratch off tickets. She was predeceased by her brother James “Bump” Spinks. Jane is survived by her daughters Sarah (Ron) Stern and Megan (Shawn) Chawgo, grandchildren Emily and Evan, sister Jill (Jamie) Dollison, niece Amanda and nephew Sean. Graveside services for Jane will be 10 a.m. Friday July 26 in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St. Marcellus. Memorial donations in Jane’s memory may be made to Marcellus Ambulance or the American Heart Association.
