Jerome Young

Jerome "Jerry" A. Young, 88, of Marietta passed away peacefully Friday April 15, 2016 at The House of John in Clifton Springs surrounded by his family. Born in Avon, MN., he worked for several local school districts as a mechanic and retired from Kennedy Chevy in Skaneateles after 42 years. Jerry also loved cutting lawns which he did for over 30 years. He was a Seabee in the US Navy serving during WWII and Korea. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Mary "Libby" in 2012 Jerry is survived by his sons Paul (Cheryl) of Tully, Kevin (Lisa) of Marcellus and Brian (Sue) of Clifton Springs, half sisters Adelaide Cox and Elsie Haupt. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Derek (Erin), Tim (Erin), Laurie (Andy), Katie, Grant and Connor and great grandchildren Landyn, Brystol, Madison, Aiden, and Nora and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday April 19 at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rite of Committal will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Monday April 18 at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
