Julia Slywka, 92, formerly of Dexter Ave., Auburn, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Mrs. Slywka was a life resident of the Auburn area, the daughter of the late John and Eva Tanchak Halanick. She was a former employee of General Electric, Auburn.
She is survived by her sons David Slywka and Greg Slywka and his wife Jennifer, all of Union Springs, a grandson Joseph Slywka and great-granddaughters Alicia and Alexandria. She is also survived by her sisters Helen Comerinsky and Sophie Forward, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Millard Slywka in 1983, sisters Mary LaDouce, Ann Bachta and Irene Mercado, brothers Frank and William Halanick, and daughter-in-law Ann Slywka,.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, in St. Mary��(TM)s Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph��(TM)s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St.
