Linda Valder Houghton, 53, of Auburn, died Friday February 25, 2011, at University Hospital, Syracuse, following a brief illness. Linda was born in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Arthur and the late Margaret Janke Balder, and moved to Long Lake, NY, at an early age. She was a graduate of Long Lake Central School. She has resided in the Auburn area for the past 25 years. During that time she was employed as the office manager by Rood Utilities/RCI Heating and Air Conditioning. She is survived by her husband William J. Houghton Jr., her daughter Leslie and her husband Ed Walker of Camillus, sons Luke Houghton of Auburn and Lee Houghton of Geneva, and grandchildren Brendan, Evan and Marissa Walker, and Alyssa Houghton. She is also survived by her father Arthur Valder, and her brothers John and Mark Valder. Funeral services for Linda will be at Noon Thursday, in the Wesleyan Church of Long Lake. Burial will follow in Long Lake Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on the family from 6 to 8 P.M.
