Louis H. Thierry Jr., 77, of Throop, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Upstate University Hospital. Lou was a life resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Louis H. and Mary Kowal Thierry. He was a member of the Weedsport High School Class of 1954. He was retired from McQuay, and prior to that had worked many years at Dunn-McCarthy. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He leaves behind his wife Patricia Deacy Thierry, his daughter and son-in-law JoAnn Thierry and Ken Zappala of Atlanta, GA, and his son Michael Thierry of Moravia. He is also survived by his sisters Jennie Lovas of Phippsburg, Maine and Lorraine White of Metuchen, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Thierry will be at 10 A.M. Monday at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Throop. Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 220 State St. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Throop Volunteer Fire Dept.
