Mary C. Wejko Obituary

Mary C. Wejko, 68, of Auburn, died Monday October 12, 2015, at Auburn Community Hospital following a brief illness. Mary was born in a forced labor camp in Regensburg Germany, the daughter of Maxim and Eva Wejko. They immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Rhode Island. Following the death of her father they came to Auburn. She was Valedictorian of her class at Auburn West High School. In 1975 she joined the Foreign Service, and worked for the U.S. Dept. of State in Tanzania, Bulgaria and Taiwan. Returning to the U.S. she held various executive secretarial positions, including Cayuga Community College from 1986 to 2005. She was a communicant of SS Peter & Paul Church. She is survived by her mother Eva Fecycz of Auburn, close friends and caregivers including Rosalie Sowa whom she grew up with beginning in the German Camps Mary Boyko, Daria Beresiwsky Shaw, Julie Lupo, Rosemary Pidlypchak, Olga Wejko Cramer, Roman and Anne Maksymiw and Carol MacKenzie. She also leaves godsons William Boyko, Paul Thomas Hohman and Scott Collier, and several neighbors who were a great help to her. She was predeceased by her brother John Fecycz in 1981, and step father Peter Fecycz in 1982 Funeral services for Mary were private, and there were no calling hours.
