Olga Kahaniak Urbanik

Olga Kahaniak, Urbanik, 84, of Boyle Center, died Saturday, September 17, 2011. Mrs. Urbanik was a life resident of the Auburn area and graduated from Auburn Schools. She was a former employee of Marine Midland and HSBC Bank, retiring in 1990. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Urbanik of Auburn, granddaughters Dawn (William) Herndon of Denver, Colo, and Erica Zelickowski, MD, of Nevada, two great grandsons Zachary and Hunter Herndon, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Urbanik in 1987, and her brother John Kahaniak. "Olga enjoyed being at Cayuga Lake. She spent many years watching the sunsets and enjoying Bon Fires with family, friends and neighbors. She was a sweetheart to all who had the pleasure of being in her company. Her family wishes to thank all those who supported and cared for her during her illness." Funeral services for Mrs. Urbanik will be at 9 A.M. Wednesday, from the Plis Funeral Home, and 9:30 A.M. in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 220 State St. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or SS Peter & Paul Church.
