<p>NORFOLK- Bernard J. “Bunny” King, 85, of 10 Hutchins Street, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton.</p><p><br></p><p>Bernard was born May 6, 1931 in Potsdam, son of the late Kenneth and Doris Bockus King. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1949, and enlisted in the US Army on March 20, 1952 and served until he was honorably discharged on March 19, 1954 as a Corporal. He married Loris H. Honer on August 22, 1959 at the Norfolk United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dean Shaw officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>Bernard worked at Alcoa, retiring as a millright after 43 ½ years of service. Bunny was a member of the Norwood American Legion, the Norfolk United Methodist Church, and the Norwood Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and was also active with the Shriners, and was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club. He enjoyed hunting and belonged to the St. Regis Club for many years, and was a skilled woodworker and craftsman.</p><p><br></p><p>Bernard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loris; two children, Sarah and Raymond DelSignore of Saratoga Springs; and Gregory and Denise King of Nolensville, TN; four grandchildren, Lauren, Anthony, Mitchell and Logan; one step grandchild, Brendon Phelps; two sisters, Beverly Avidikian of Potsdam; and Rita and Butch Lavigne of Norfolk; a brother, Lloyd and Rita King of Norfolk; a sister-in-law, Alice King of Norfolk; and a brother-in-law, Donald LaBarge of Norfolk; and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by a brother, Richard King; and a sister-in-law, Dawn LaBarge.</p><p><br></p><p>There will be no calling hours, a graveside service will be held at Bixby Cemetery in Norfolk on June 2, 2017 at 12 noon, with Brendon Hardy officiating.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
