MASSENA- Christine F. Eames, 98, formerly of 34 Malby Avenue, peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, June 22, 2017 at the St. Regis Nursing Home.

Christine was born June 16, 1919 in Endicott, NY, daughter of the late Arthur and Emily Josephine Layeau Carmon. She graduated from Union Endicott High School and took nurses training through Manpower in 1968.

She worked as a LPN at the Highland Nursing Home for 18 years until her retirement. Before moving to Massena, she worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory in Endicott for many years. Christine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, gardening, crafting, find a word search puzzles and watching Judge Judy, Touched by an Angel and movies based during the 40’s.

Christine is survived by her three children, Sharon and Richard Lawrence, Rick T. Eames, and Kirk D. Eames, all of Massena; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her brother Vern Carmon of Endicott.

Besides her parents, Christine was predeceased by four sisters, Erma Clark; Glady Mills; Thelma Horton; and Eva Carmon; and one brother, Albert Carmon.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena on Sunday 4-6:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Colin Lucid, officiating. Burial will be at Massena Center Cemetery, Monday 10:00 AM.
