Yvette A. Breen Obituary

LOUISVILLE – Mrs. Yvette A. Breen, 75, of Shallow River Lane, peacefully passed away Saturday afternoon, June 24, 2017 at her home surrounded with the love of her family and friends.


Yvette was born May 21, 1942 in Montreal, the daughter of the late Leo and Bertha (Davidson) Diotte of Cornwall, Ontario and attended schools in Montreal. On March 13, 1998, she married Terry Breen in Louisville with Justice John Burns, officiating.


Yvette was the property manager at Glengarry Apartments in Cornwall, where she deeply enjoyed her work and the friendships she forged. She had a great passion for flower gardening and was active in the Massena Garden Club. Yvette also enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and going to lunch with her friends.


Yvette is survived by her loving husband, Terry; her son, Robert Cummings and his wife, Patricia Wynn-Cummings of Edmonton, Alberta; her daughters, Dale Pilkington and Diane Thompson and her husband, Jordan, all of Cornwall, Ontario; her stepchildren, Julie Cooke and her husband, Roger of Massena; and Patrick Breen of Massena; and her grandchildren, Liam, Adrian, Allison, Kelly, Kyle, and Erin. She is also survived by her brothers, Roger Diotte and his wife, Nicole and Alain Diotte and his wife, Kim, all of Montreal; a sister-in-law, Linda Thauvette of Lancaster, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.


In keeping with Yvette’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private memorial service will be held.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or Northern Lights Home Care.
