Edward Fallon

Edward R. Fallon, a resident of Nyack, died at Joseph Raso Hospice Facility on September 4th 2017. He was 92. Mr. Fallon was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on January 21, 1925 to Michael and Mary Hoolihan Fallon. A longtime resident of Nanuet,N.Y., he also lived in Manhattan from 1979 until 1989 when he moved to Nyack with his wife, Toni Petricone Fallon. They married in 1984. Ed spent the bulk of his career as a vice president with Albert Frank-Guenther Law, Inc, one of the country's oldest advertising/public relations agencies. He was also a senior vice president with Arlen Financial Communications. After his retirement in 1988 he served for 20 years as an editorial consultant to the Commercial Finance Association, the trade association of the asset-based financial services industry. He graduated from New York University and also attended the N.Y.U. Graduate School of Business Administration. Earlier he had graduated from Charles E. Gorton High in Yonkers. During World War II, Ed served for three years with 775th Tank Battalion. A sergeant tank commander, he served overseas for 18 months in New Guinea and the Philippines. He participated in the invasion of Luzon, a major island in the northwest Philippines. He was awarded the Bronze Star and also received the Philippines Liberation Medal with one star. Ed was dedicated and devoted to his much loved family. A lover of books and the English language,he also had passionate interests in jazz and baseball. An ardent Boston Red Sox fan , he was a member of the Benevolent Loyal Order of Honorable Ancient Red Sox Diehard Sufferers of New York[BLOHARDS]. In the 1960's he was actively involved in the Nanuet Little League and the Babe Ruth League. Ed is survived by his loved and loving wife Toni; two sons, Mark[wife Susan] of West Camp,N.Y. and Don[wife Deborah] of San Ramon, California; and daughter Janet Cassetta [husband Dan] of Prescott, Arizona. Seven grandchildren also survive:Kristin Johnson,Brian Steiner, Brent Fallon, Kyle Fallon, Dana Fallon,Allison Cassetta and Eric Cassetta. Two great-granchildren, Hunter and Riley Culton, also survive as do nieces Linda Schad and Michele Crane. Ed's beloved first wife, Jean Sullivan Fallon, and the mother of his children, died in 1975. They married on January 19, 1947. Their firstborn, daughter Patricia Steiner, of Tucson, Arizona, died on December 29. 2004 of recurrent breast cancer. as did her mother. Ed's sister, and dear friend Marie Fallon Gay died in 1992. The Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway is handling the arrangements. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland County 11 Stokum Ln.
