Genevieve Dell’Olio

Genevieve R. Dell’Olio of Tappan, NY, died on May 6, 2017. She was born in Monsey, NY on March 14, 1933 to Clarence and Amelia (Rogers) Eckerson. She was a lifelong resident of Rockland County. After graduating from Spring Valley High School, she worked as a bank teller for a couple of years before getting a job at Lederle Laboratories, where she met the love of her life her husband, Frank. They were married for 50 years before Frank’s death in 2007. She also worked at Raso Beer Dist. for many years. Genevieve is survived by her five children: Lisa Fallon (Joe) of Valley Cottage, Sandra Murray (James Bonsangue) of Hillcrest, Gail Zanfardino of Worcester, MA, Dawn Lyons of Tappan, and Frank Jr. (Diana) of New City. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jeremy Murray, James and John Zanfardino, Joseph Fallon, Jr., Genevieve Paganini, Shanna and Amber Roy, Renee’ and Savannah Lyons, Frankie, Jake, and Grace Dell’Olio, and great grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary, Benjamin, Vincenzo, and Domenico Zanfardino, Brennan and Brayden Murray, and Maya Paganini. Genevieve is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Eckerson and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings: Chester Eckerson, Jenny Kruithof, Violet Skidmore, and Charles Eckerson. Genevieve will always be remembered for the knitted Christmas stockings she lovingly made for family and friends, her delicious lasagna, and her selflessness. She loved her family and always put everyone first. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visiting will be held on Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St. Ann’s RC Church in Nyack. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack.
