Maryann Virginia Magee, Age:85 Creskill NJ. Maryann Magee died peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2017 at Sunrise Senior Living of Creskill. Born in Queens NY in 1932 to Arthur and Gladys Behrmann, she spent most of her life in Nanuet and Nyack. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, and is survived by her sister Kathleen Behrmann, sons Stephen and David Magee, her daughters Judi Wolstenholme and Nora Jaster, grandchildren Avery, Meaghan, Alexa, and Sophia Magee, Charles and Caroline Wolstenholme, and Scott Jaster. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and was known by all her grandchildren as “Grammy". In the 70’s, she went back to school and became an RN to help supplement her chidren’s college educations. She loved the arts, and annually was the female lead in St. Anthony’s Nanuet school plays. She and Harry loved classical music and the opera, and would often attend Broadway shows and concerts at Lincoln Center. She loved Nyack, and became a guide, giving walking tours of the town daily. An avid baseball fan, the Yankees were her team and Joe Dimaggio was her hero. They loved to travel, and touring Europe together in their retirement years, was her ultimate joy. She had a voracious zeal for life and will be deeply missed by family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held for Maryann at St.Ann’s in Nyack on Wedsnesday September 13th, at 1pm.
