<p>MASSENA – Mr. Clarence David “Buster” Hayes, Jr., 63, of Kingston and formerly of Massena, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday afternoon, June 27, 2017 at Mount Sinai Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Buster was born May 3, 1954 in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Zelma (Jeffries) Hayes and the late Clarence D. Hayes. He was a 1972 graduate of Hermon-Dekalb Central School and attended SUNY Cortland. </p><p><br></p><p>Buster owned and operated the C&amp;C Dinner Restaurant located on Route 56 in Massena for twenty years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Blevins), whom he married on August 15, 1979 in Alexandria, Virginia; his children, Erin Hayes of Albany; Clarence “Casey” David Hayes, III, and his wife, Ann Durant Hayes of Kingston; and Brianna Hayes of Kingston; two grandsons, Logan and Dominico Hayes, of Kingston; his mother, Zelma Hayes of Hermon; two brothers, Rutherford Hayes of Washington and Marcus Hayes of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mary Hayes Gordon of Utica; and Bonnie “Sue” Brown of North Carolina.</p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by his father, Clarence Hayes.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM with Pastor William Huckle, officiating. Burial will follow in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. </p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
