<p>JOHN L. FOSTER</p><p><br></p><p>WEST PARISHVILLE – Mr. John L. Foster, 59, of Russell Turnpike Road, passed away Tuesday morning, September 19, 2017 in the emergency room of Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness.</p><p><br></p><p>John was born February 28, 1958 in Potsdam the son of Leonard and Jean Mills Foster and was a graduate of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School. </p><p><br></p><p>John was a mechanic for many years, first with Barstow Motors, moving to Tardelli Auto, and most recently was a heavy equipment mechanic at Atlantic Testing in Potsdam. He was an avid snowmobiler and was a member of the St. Lawrence County Snowmobile Association. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and cherished the time he was able to spend at his camp at Sevey’s Corners.</p><p><br></p><p>John is survived by his mother, Jean Higgins of West Parishville; his father and step-mother, Leonard and Faye Foster of West Parishville; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Sandra Foster of Colton; his half sisters, Tammy Higgins of New Hampshire and Elizabeth Ramsdell of Buckton; his nephews, Brad Foster, and his wife, Debbie, and Andy Foster; his niece, Heather Foster Barriger and her husband, Aaron; and his great nieces, Brionna and and Willow; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by his fiancé, Judy Wendt on August 15, 2015.</p><p><br></p><p>At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where memories and condolences may be shared online at www.donaldsonseymour.com.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
