<p>Mildred (Millie) L. Sachs, formerly of Rochester, NY, died peacefully April 19, 2017 at the Maplewood Campus in Canton, NY. A memorial service will be held in the early summer at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rochester, NY.</p><p><br></p><p>Millie was born January 4, 1922 in Bitumen, PA to Edwin and Phoebe Smith Lind. She married Robert A. (Bob) Sachs on October 2, 1948 in Rochester, NY and worked as a hairdresser, a teacher aide for Project Follow Through and dean’s secretary at Madison High School in Rochester, while devoting herself to her three sons. Millie and Bob traveled extensively throughout the US and, after retirement, became ‘snow birds,’ wintering in Ft. Myers, FL for many years. Millie was known for her prolific attachment to photography and chronicled many social and family events.</p><p><br></p><p>She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert, May 23, 2004, a son, Richard R. Sachs, August 22, 2007, a brother, Carl Lind, February 7, 2015 and an infant sister.</p><p><br></p><p>Millie is survived by two sons, Ted R. (Linda) Sachs, Rochester and Edwin A. (Sarah) Sachs, Potsdam; three grandsons, David T. (Kristen) Sachs, Hershey, PA, Jeffrey R. (Lizzie) Sachs, Rochester, Nathaniel C. (Jennifer) ZehrSachs, Potsdam; and three great-grandchildren, Elliott LaRose, Potsdam, and Ethan and Ella Sachs, Hershey, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>Donations in her memory may be made to the United Helpers Maplewood Campus, whose skilled nursing staff cared for her so greatly in her final years. </p><p><br></p><p>A</p>
