Dolores P. Ashline, age 86, of Rome, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017, at the Pines at Utica, surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born in St. Albans, VT on March 25, 1931 to the late Cesaire and Flora Dupre Lacoste. On January 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Harold R. Ashline; a blessed union of 64 years until his passing on May 27, 2017. She worked as a secretary for the TLQ and a commissary cashier at Griffiss AFB. Dolores loved to knit and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed trips with Harold in their RV and she was a secretary for their RV group known as the Keshequa Winnies. Dolores is survived by four daughters and three sons in law, Marie Ashline of Whitesboro, Kathleen and John Toomey of Tryon, NC, Gloria and Joseph Talerico of Rome, and Susan and Don Maziarz of Schuyle; a son and daughter in law, Michael and Lauren Ashline of Blissfield, MI; four grandchildren, Carre, Nicole (Mike), Eric, Montanna; and four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Matthew, Lucas, and Marlee. The family would like to thank the 2nd and 3rd floors at the Pines for their care and compassion shown to Dolores during her stay. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 4 to 7 PM.
