Obituary:Dorothy A. Waterman, 78, of Camden, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on June 19, 1931, in Florence, the daughter of Beriah and Sadie McCaffrey Willson. She was a graduate of Camden Central High School. On June 4, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard Waterman in St. John’s Church, Camden, where the Rev. Quinn officiated.
Dorothy and her husband, Richard, were the owners and operators of the Utica-Rome Speedway for fifteen years, and the Camden Upholstery for sixty years.
She was a member of St. John’s Church, Camden, where she was a religious education teacher.
Surivivng besides her loving husband of sixty-one years, Richard; are a daughter, Susan Waterman, of Camden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Janet Waterman, of Florence, and Jeff and Cindy Waterman, of Camden; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Pazdur, of Whitesboro, and Sally Healy, of Williamstown; a brother and sister-in-law, Beriah and Helen Willson, of Vernon; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Burdette and Grace Waterman, of Camden; two grandchildren, Randy Waterman, and Tracy McDonough and her husband, John; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sean; special friends, Nancy and Bill Wimble, of Valrico, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Willson; a sister-in-law, Eileen Willson; and a brother-in-law, Edward Healy.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 St. Rt. 13, Camden, at 9:15 AM and a Mass of the Christian Burial at St. John’s Church, Camden, at 10:00 AM, where the Rev. Carlo Stirpe will officiate. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
