Obituary: James E. Ingersoll, 66, of Holland Patent, passed away April 8, 2010, at his home. He was born August 13, 1943, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Morris and Odena Bogart Ingersoll. He was a graduate of Holland Patent High School.
He worked at the Turningstone Resort and Casino for several years. Prior to that, he owned car dealerships in Florida.
Mr. Ingersoll served in the US Marine Corp. aboard the USS Enterprise.
James played bass in the band W.A.N.T.E.D. with his son, Donald. He loved his music and the guys in the band. He was a loving father and grandfather, lover of life and friends. We will miss him dearly
He survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Rebecca, of Rome, and Michael, of Englewood, FL; his former wife of forty-one years, Donna, of Englewood, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bill Whitman, of Boonville; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Matt Ingersoll, of Holland Patent, Doug and Cheryl Ingersoll, of Westernville, Chuck Ingersoll and Cathy Tanner, of Holland Patent, and Tim and Connie Ingersoll, of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Curtis, Victoria, Michael, Leanna, Lyndzey, and Jessica; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 6-9pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
