Obituary for Phyllis J. Arbes Sieniecki

Phyllis J. Prosser Arbes Sieniecki, 82, of Taberg, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 24, 1933 in Ava, the daughter of William and Leena Loomis Prosser. On August 30, 1975 she married Stanley Sieniecki. He passed away December 21, 2009.
Phyllis retired from the Rome DDSO. She previously worked at Dandee Donuts.
She was a very successful stock driver in the Brookfield Garden and Tractor Club and won several tractor pull contests. She also loved playing the slots at the casino.
Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Max) Baker of Swancott Mills; eight sons, Steve (Carol) Arbes of Savannah, GA, Bruce (Stella) Arbes of Florence, Mark Arbes of Rome, John (Lynn) Arbes of Annsville, Adrian Arbes of Houston, TX, David (Patty) Arbes of Lee Center, Doug (Becky) Arbes of Point Rock, and Mike (Terry) Arbes of Annsville; three sisters, Beverly Porter, Victoria Buttacavoli, and Virginia Prosser, all of Rome; a brother, William Prosser of Ilion; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care and Oneida Healthcare for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to them in Phyllis’ time of need.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery in Taberg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Phyllis’ memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
