Dora Hall Obituary

Dora Marie Hall 91, formerly of Gurenson Lane, Niskayuna, passed away on Monday March 25, 2013 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center with her loving family by her side. Dora was born in Bismark, ND, a daughter of the late Carl A. and Helen Krebs Siechert. She was a graduate of Pasadina Jr. College, CA. Dora married Robert N. Hall August 2, 1941 and they moved to Schenectady in 1948. Dora was a long time member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was the past president of United Methodist Women of the Church, the membership secretary of FUMC and a member of Church Women United. Her other memberships included SICM, the Interfaith Community of Schenectady andthe Orchard Hill Garden Club. Dora was Co-Founder of Home Furnishings of Schenectady and was much involved with Better Neighborhoods of Schenectady. She also volunteered with the Wildwood Association. Dora and Bob loved Folk and Square dancing and she loved gardening at home, spending time at Lake George as well as traveling. Dora is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert N. Hall; children, Richard H. Hall and Elaine (Dan) Schulz; brother Paul Siechert; nephew Carl (Jan) Siechert; and nieces Carol (Bruce) Wagner and Barbara (Richard) Proffitt. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, at 2 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady, with Rev. Robert DeFelice officiating. A calling hour will be held from 1 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dora's memory to FUMC, 811 Brandywine Ave., Schenectady, NY 12308 or to the Wildwood Foundation, 2995 Curry Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303. Dora's family would like to take an opportunity to thank the Doctors, the D Wing Staff at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center and Community Hospice for the loving care given to our wife and mother during her illness.
