South Glens Falls Karen N. (Plue) LaPoint, 74, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at home. Born in Glens Falls on February 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Louis (Jurgens) Plue. Karen graduated from Glens Falls High School, class of 1957. On June 22, 1958, she married Beecher LaPoint at St. Alphonsus Church. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls. Karen enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her one great grandchild. Her family was her world. Besides her parents, Karen is predeceased by her two sisters, Sally Zeno and Gloria Closson and a brother, Jack Plue. Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of 55 years, Beecher LaPoint. She is also cherished by her five children, Penny Sciancalepore and husband Cosmo, Matthew LaPoint and wife Amy, Mark LaPoint and wife Karen all of South Glens Falls, Deborah Greene of Weymouth, MA, Luke LaPoint of Salem, grandchildren: Kevin Greene, Dennis Greene, Matthew LaPoint, Nicholas LaPoint, Rebecca LaPoint, Guy Sciancalepore, Anna Sciancalepore, Alex King, Hilary LaPoint, and Mason LaPoint; one great grandchild: Adaline King; sister: Elaine Chase of Guilderland; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
