Joseph R. Zlotnik April 26, 2017 Joseph R. Zlotnik, 89, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday. He was native of Rochester. Joseph was the only child of Anthony and Sophia Zlotnik, moved to Syracuse in 1938. He attended St. Vincent DePaul School but graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School. Joseph played Basketball on the City League Championship Team 1944-1945. He had proudly served in the Navy for 2 years on the Destroyer Lyman K. Swenson in the Asiatic/Pacific. Joseph attended Lemoyne College. He enjoyed riding his horse “Lady” on the trails in the Lyndon area from 1963 – 1972. Joseph retired in 1993 from the Syracuse Newspaper where he worked as a Printer for more than 43 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline H. in 2007. Joseph is survived by his son, Peter Zlotnik. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
