Kim Marie Felter

Kim M. Felter, 54, of Sherman St, Kingston, NY and also of Rosendale, NY died Monday, July 27th, 2020 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. She was born in Kingston, New York on January 28th, 1966, a daughter of Edward Felter of Saugerties and Julia Felter of Kingston. Kim was employed as a retail sales clerk at Marshalls for over 25 years. She was also a jewelry assembler with Lunch at the Ritz. She enjoyed attending rock concerts, especially those featuring Joan Jett, and the late Prince, and loved to dance to disco music. She also enjoyed visiting the Jersey Shore, hot air balloons and parasailing, and was a thrill-seeker on roller coasters. Kim was always full of life, always happy, and never had a bad word about anyone. She would bring joy into any room she walked in. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her longtime companion, Bill Van Vliet of Rosendale, one sister, Valerie Felter of Kingston, two brothers, Ed Felter, and his wife Laura, of Saugerties, and Russ Felter, and his companion Holly Raskoskie, of Kingston. She is also survived by nieces, Alysha Raskoskie, Bryce Short, Xena Felter, Ashly Felter, Kaylee Felter, Savannah Felter, Abigail Smith, nephews, Kenrick Herring, Evan Felter, Russell Felter, Jr., and great-nephew, Prestyn Oquendo and Nestin Orellana, Jr., and former sister-in-law, Sarah Herring. The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Due to NYS restrictions, funeral home occupancy is limited, social distancing must be observed, and face coverings must be worn. We kindly ask after paying your respects, that you exit promptly so we may continue to allow more attendees inside to also pay their respects. A graveside service followed by burial will be private.
