David Sutherland

Latham – David “Suds” Sutherland, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at home in Latham. Born in Troy, Dave was son of the late John W. and Anna Mae Sabol Sutherland. He is survived by his brother, John (Carol) Sutherland; his nieces and nephews, Anna Mae Decker (Michael) of Niskayuna, J.A. Sutherland (Melanie) of East Amherst, NY, Christine Sutherland of Watervliet and Derek Sutherland of Latham; as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the lifelong friend of Vicki Sawyer and her son Christopher Sawyer. Dave was a graduate of Watervliet High School and was a retired electrician having worked for IBEW Local 236. He was an avid motorcyclist and lived to ride every day. Dave enjoyed all things relating to motorcycles from working on them to racing them in Laconia, N.H. He will be surely missed but not forgotten. A service for Dave will be held on Tuesday at 7 PM in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Dave’s family on Tuesday, before the service, from 4 until 7 PM. A private interment will be held, at a later time, in the Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
