MaryAnn Marra Obituary

MaryAnn Marra, 88, of W. Harrison, NY passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018. She was born on February 28, 1930 to the late Teresa (Verano) and John Chiaravallotti. On October 23, 1949 she married Russell Marra, Sr. who predeceased her in 1999 after 50 years of marriage. MaryAnn was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and is survived by her brother, Michael Chiaravalotti of W. Harrison, her 3 children, Russell (Diana) Marra, Jr. of W. Harrison, JoAnne (Craig) Kohn of Elmsford and Michelle (John) Bellantoni of Brewster, her 6 grandchildren; Jason (Kelly) Marra, Liz (Ray) Anderson, Suzanne (Dave) Calabrese, Lauren Kohn, Teresa and Marissa Bellantoni and her 3 great grandchildren; Colin, Dylan and Quinn and many other friends and family. She lived her entire life in W. Harison (Silver Lake) and graduated from White Plains High School. MaryAnn worked as a secretary for the Battle Hill Westchester Community College location, a legal secretary, a homemaker, a school volunteer and will always be remembered for her superb bookkeeping, typing and organizational skills.

She was a former member of the Ave Maria Guild, the W. Harrison Senior Citizens and VFW Ladies Auxilliary as well as a life-long Yankee fan. Over the years she enjoyed travelling, sewing, bowling, bingo, visiting close family members and most of all cooking for her family, especially on holidays and family pasta nights where all the generations were present.

Visiting will be Friday from 4-8pm at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home, Inc., 491 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains, NY 10605. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, W. Harrison with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
