Dorothy Finnegan Obituary

Dorothy V. Finnegan, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, passed away on November 1, 2007 after a short illness. She was 93. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ann Bruno Jordan. She married Joseph J. Finnegan on August 24th, 1935. Dorothy was educated in Yonkers Schools and had a 25 year career as a Contract Representative with E&I Co-op Services, Garden City, LI. Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her son, Joseph T. Finnegan and his wife Leslie, of Louisburg, NC; 3 grandchildren, CMDR USN (Ret.) Joseph T. Finnegan, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, of Washington, DC, Ellen Ordonez, of Fairfax, VA and James Finnegan of Winston Salem, NC and 6 great-grandchildren, Maggie, Joseph T., III, Daniel, Kevin, Matthew and William. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Howett of Alden PA, brother Ronald Jordan and his wife Terry of Yorktown Heights, NY, devoted nephew Thomas Dushock and his wife Nancy, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and other loving nieces and nephews. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph (1986), sisters Lucille Gerster, Catherine Hoy, Myrtle Rose, Constance Evans, Norma Dushock and brothers Frank, Daniel and Philip Jordan. Visiting hours will be held at the Flynn Memorial Home on Monday morning November 5, 2007 only from 8:15 to 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church in Riverdale at 10 AM.. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
