Billy Styles

Billy F. Styles, 82, of Asheville, passed away April 10, 2017. Mr. Styles was born March 12, 1935 in Yancey County to the late Lee and Viola Styles. Billy was a veteran of the US Army, a little league baseball coach for numerous years, and a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He retired from General Electric after 37 years of service. Billy was a much-loved dad, granddad, and great granddad. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty J. Styles; and sister, Joyce Pewdo. Billy is survived by his daughter, Donna S. Tipton; son, Jimmy Styles (Lisa); sister, Linda Bradley; grandchildren, Josh Styles (Holly), Jeremy Styles (Kate), Jenalee Luther (Alex), and Katie Tipton; great grandchildren, Anna, Leighton, Korbin, Allie, Alex Jr., and Malachi; sisters-in-law, Barbara Wright and Mary Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Black Mountain Church of God. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
