James Wheelon

James R. “Bob” Wheelon, Sr., 84, of Frostproof, FL and formerly of Black Mountain, NC, passed away September 23, 2017. James was born October 18, 1932 in Burke County to the late James and Rooney Wheelon. James was very active in the Black Mountain community for numerous years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Betty Wheelon; wife, Virginia Wheelon; and brother, Gene Wheelon. James is survived by his son, James R. Wheelon, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Sheline (Danny); step children, Judy Castillo (David) and Gary O’Dell (Sandy); sister, Hazel Stephens; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, September 29, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:30pm at Harwood Home for Funerals with a celebration of life service immediately following. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted and appreciated.
