Lee Pruett Obituary

On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Lee Pruett, Jr., 87, of Swannanoa went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He had a four month battle with colon cancer. His loving daughters, family and friends were by his side when he was called home. Lee Pruett was born in Asheville, North Carolina on November 27, 1924 to Lee Pruett and Lennie Goldsmith Pruett. Lee Pruett retired from the City of Asheville as a Sanitation Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and his daughter, Joyce Jenkins. He is survived by his daughters, Frances Tate, and Wanda West (Steve); sisters, Irene Metcalf, Edna Cook, and Lois Bertram; brother, Robert Pruett; grandchildren, Joey, Keefe, Regina Tate, Wayne Tate, Robin Tate, Amber Golden, and Isaac West; and four great-grandchildren. He loved long walks on the mountain and spending time with the Lord in solitude. Lee was a hard worker and loved helping others. He also enjoyed attending church. He loved his daughters dearly and wanted to extend his gratitude to them and his neighbors for their love and support. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals.
