Maude Mae Gowan Ayers, 86, of Asheville, NC passed away September 16, 2017. Maude was born April 19, 1932 in Del Rio, TN and was a resident of Asheville, NC for most of her life. She was formerly employed with Plasticard Locktech. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Floyd Ayers (1996). Maude was the loving mother of one child, William H. Ayers of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by her sisters, Viola Brown, Janet Mathis and Dorothy Mathis; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00am at Harwood Home for Funerals in Black Mountain, NC.
